SAS: Agreement reached with the pilot union in Sweden.

Industrial action over - SAS has reached an agreement with the pilot union in Sweden

SAS has now reached an agreement with the pilot union in Sweden and the industrial action is over. 
Traffic will be resumed, but unfortunately, due to the previous pilot strike, there will still be cancellations and traffic disturbances. Already cancelled flights on 14JUN16 and 15JUN16 are still cancelled.

Rebooking

Passengers holding SK/117-document with SK operated flights, that has been cancelled, may be involuntary rebooked to other SK operated flights, including wet lease. 
Note: Wet lease flights and SAS Intercontinental flights are planned to operate according to schedule. 
Tickets may be rebooked both outbound and inbound.
Also applicable for Group reservations.   
Rebooking to be made in the same booking class, or lowest available booking class in the same service class as originally booked.

New date of travel must be on/before 31OCT16. 

Tickets must be marked with:
FE invol reissued due strike on SAS 

If necessary, change of Origin and Destination to/from SK destinations (including wet lease) is permitted. Tickets must be reissued before passenger arrives to new origin/destination airport. 
Note: New Origin or Destination must be within reasonable distance from original Origin or Destination.

Passengers booked on SK intercontinental flights to/from Scandinavia 

Passengers booked on SK intercontinental flights to/from Scandinavia with onward cancelled SK connection to Europe may be involuntary rebooked according to ordinary rebooking policy. 
Rebooking to be made in the same booking class, or lowest available booking class in the same service class as originally booked.

New date of travel must be on/before 31OCT16.

Rebooking for passengers with other airline tickets

Passengers booked on cancelled SK operated flights, holding other airlines document, may be involuntary rebooked to other SK operated flights, including wet lease. 

New date of travel must be on/before 31OCT16.

FE invol reissued due strike on SAS  

Rebooking to other airlines within 24 hours 

SK operated flights cancelled within 24 hours of original departure time, may be rebooked to SAS interline partners, in the same booking class, or lowest available booking class in the same service class as originally booked, Group and Award tickets included.

Rebooking to other airlines more than 24 hours 

SK operated flights cancelled more than 24 hours before departure, may be rebooked to below interline partners, in the same booking class, or lowest available booking class in the same service class as originally booked, Group and Award tickets included:

Exception for LH, LX and UA, where class mapping must be followed, see below.

Rebooking and ticket reissue for Travel Agents

Travel Agents are authorized to involuntary rebook and reissue SK/117-document with SK operated cancelled flights, according to above. 
If above instructions not followed, ADM will be sent.

Refund

Refund permitted for cancelled flights.

Cancellations and delays - Standard Procedures

Following guidelines must always be followed in irregularity situations, unless other information is published on the Traffic News page.

Cancellations can be divided into two groups

  • Cancellations caused by extra ordinary circumstances
  • Cancellations not caused by extra ordinary circumstances
  • Bad weather   
  • Strikes   
  • Technical reasons   
  • Political instability   
  • Security risks   
  • Air Traffic Management decisions  

Cancellations caused by extra ordinary circumstances unable to foresee

Passengers who are facing a cancellation caused by extra ordinary circumstances are entitled to the following assistance:  

  • Care - meals and refreshments, hotel accommodation for one or more nights if necessary, transport to/from airport and hotel, two phone calls, telex, e-mails or faxes
  • Rebooking to other SK-flight or return to first point of departure
  • Refund

Note: Care only apply for SK operated flights and SK wet lease flights.  

Cancellations not caused by extra ordinary circumstances planned in advance 

If a flight is cancelled in advance, or affected by a schedule change, this is to be considered as "not caused by extra ordinary circumstances". 
These types of cancellations or changes, must always be taken care of at least 14 days before scheduled departure.

Passengers holding reservations, affected by cancellation or schedule change in advance, are entitled to the following assistance:  

  • Rebooking to other SK flights within ticket validity, if given alternative is not acceptable 
  • Refund 

Delays at airport

Passengers facing delays more than two hours are entitled to care. 
Passengers shall be offered care - meals and refreshments, hotel accommodation for one or more nights if necessary, transport to/from airport and hotel, two phone calls, telex, e-mails or faxes when applicable. 

Delays more than 3 hours on departure time - point to point 

If a flight is delayed more than 3 hours, passengers have the right to reimburse the ticket within 7 days or rebooking to other SK-flight. 

Delays more than 3 hours on departure time - in transfer  

If rebooking of a transfer flight gives more than 3 hours delay, passengers have the right to reimburse the ticket within 7 days, rebooking to other SK-flight or return to the first point of departure.

Passengers holding One Way tickets

Delays more than 3 hours on departure time - from point of origin
If a flight is delayed more than 3 hours, the passengers have the right to reimburse the ticket within 7 days or rebooking to other SK-flight. 

Delays / Cancellations - in transfer  
If a flight is delayed and causes a misconnection, the passengers shall be rebooked to next available SK-flight to point of destination.  
No refund of used segments.

Delays more than 3 hours on arrival time - point to point 

EU compensation may be paid out if delay is not caused by extraordinary circumstances when arriving later than 3 hours after schedule time. 

Delays more than 3 hours on arrival time - in transfer  

EU compensation may be paid out if rebooking of a transfer flight gives more than 3 hours arrival delay after schedule time, and delay is not caused by extraordinary circumstances.
