Revised Checked Baggage Allowance Policy – R5.

Please be advised that checked baggage policy with ticket issue on/after 11Apr2018 revised as below.

A. General Baggage Rule

General Free Checked Baggage Allowance

For all HX operating route:

Southwest Pacific* - Australia and New Zealand

1 Weight: Up to 50LB / (23KG) per piece; Size: Up to 62IN / (158CM), Width+ Depth + Height = Up to 158CM

2 Weight: Up to 70LB / (32KG) per piece; Size: Up to 62IN / (158CM), Width+ Depth + Height = Up to 158CM

2. Special Checked Baggage Rule for Fortune Wings Club member

For all HX operating route:

1 Weight: Up to 50LB/ (23KG) per piece; Size: Up to 62IN / 158CM (Width + Depth + Height = Up to 158CM)

2 Weight: Up to 70LB/ (32KG) per piece; Size: Up to 62IN / 158CM (Width+ Depth + Height = Up to 158CM)

The maximum weight and dimensions of any single piece of checked baggage should not be over 32KG (70LB) and 158CM / 62IN (Length + Width + Height) respectively. Overweight and oversize items (Exception: mobility aids, medical equipment, sporting equipment) must be repacked or split into lighter units otherwise will not be accepted for carriage.
Oversized and overweight items will accept only which is subjected to the availability of the aircraft on the specific flight/day of departure.
An excess baggage charge will be levied on any baggage that exceeds the free checked baggage allowance at the airport. For excess baggage rates, please contact our Call Center.
Infant refers to a passenger under 2 years old.

3. Extra Baggage Charges on top of General Free Checked Baggage Allowance and Special Checked Baggage Rule for Fortune Wings Club member

For all HX operating routes (except Southwest Pacific* / Saipan / Canada / United States of America / Maldives

/ Russia / Europe), charges for baggage in excess of the free baggage allowance is calculated in kilogram (1KG

= 2.2LB) according to the Zone table as listed below.

Note :

Oversized baggage : USD100/piece for a baggage >158CM / 62IN (Width+ Depth + Height)

Baggage with excessive size and weight : accumulating charging

For HX operating flights on Southwest Pacific* / Saipan / Canada / United States of America / Maldives / Russia/ Europe

Southwest Pacific* - Australia and New Zealand

B. Special Baggage Rule

Partly Business class and partly Economy class travel

For through journeys where the passenger travels partly on business class and partly on economy class, the free baggage allowance for each portion of travel shall be granted according to each purchased ticket class.
Where a passenger who has paid the business class fare travels on Economy class, the free baggage allowance shall be given based on that for the Business class service respectively.

For Baggage Allowance and Extra Baggage Charges Policy for multi-sector journey involving various airlines

For most circumstances, baggage rule will be determined by the definition of “Most Significant Carrier” (MSC) which refers to IATA Resolution 302 effective since 1Apr2011.
Most Significant Carrier (MSC) determines which baggage rule applies for travel more than one carrier in the journey.
The baggage rule will count between two points which refers the point where the baggage check-in is started and the point where the baggage is collected.
The baggage rule will between two points for the whole journey will be governed by IATA definition of Most Significant Carrier (MSC) concept.

There are exceptions if United States of America and Canada defined as the travel start OR final destination in the whole journey.

8. 5 Scenario apply as the IATA definition of “Most Significant Carrier” (MSC)

The first carrier that crosses a tariff area defines as MSC if the flight travel across an IATA tariff
The first carrier that crosses a tariff area defines as MSC if the flight travel across a IATA Sub-Tariff Area, even the flight does not cross an IATA tariff area
The first carrier that crosses a tariff area defines as MSC if the flight travel across an international border, even the flight does not cross an IATA tariff area
Exception if United States of America are defined as the travel start OR final destination in the whole journey
- US DOT Order 2009-9-20 (05Oct2009)
- For passengers whose ultimate ticketed origin or destination is a U.S. point, the baggage provisions selected at the beginning of the itinerary shall apply throughout the itinerary, regardless of stopovers, and
- in the case of code-share flights that include a point in the United States of America, the Most Significant Carrier (MSC) shall be the Marketing Carrier.
Exception if Canada are defined as the travel start OR final destination in the whole journey

- Canadian Transportation Agency’s (Agency) Interline Baggage Rule for Canada, effective for tickets issues on or after 01April2015

- that a single set of baggage rules will be applied throughout a passenger's interline itinerary issued on a single ticket whose origin or ultimate ticketed destination is a point in Canada, regardless of stopovers. #1

- the carrier whose designator code is identified on the first flight segment of the passenger's interline ticket (i.e. the selecting carrier) will select the baggage rules which will apply for the entire interline itinerary #2

- for international itineraries, including domestic segments of an international itinerary, only the baggage rules of carriers with tariffs on file and in effect with the Agency are eligible to be selected for application per #1 and #2.
