From April 15, 2019 (based on the date of ticket issuance), the Lufthansa Group airlines will enter into force the agreed rules for the carriage of Pets in the cabin (PETC). With the specified date the carriage of small dogs and cats must also be met in a soft bag for the transport of animals on flights of Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa.

Bag for transportation of animals must meet the following requirements:

• must be clean, exclude the possibility of escape of the animal and protect it from scratches;
• must be able to be placed under the chair;
• maximum dimensions (height + width + depth) must not exceed 118 cm or 55 x 23 x 40 cm;
• weight (including pet) must not exceed 8 kg.

The use of rigid containers for transportation is allowed only if the passenger has already started the journey and, for example, makes a return flight or has a ticket issued before April 15, 2019.
